Equestrian Gallery
The art of horsemanship

The Equestrian Gallery is located at the Riding School Arena of the Real Maestranza de Caballería of Ronda, and dedicated to the history of Spanish thoroughbred horses and the development of the practice of classical dressage.

In the gallery the visitor can observe the 'Iberian Rider', a sculpture cast of a dismounted Iberian rider thrusting a lance into his fallen enemy. This fifth century BC piece demonstrates how the horse was considered an element of prestige among individual riders belonging to the aristocracy, at a time when cavalry did not exist.
