Real Maestranza
Introduction to the history of this institution of the nobility and chivalry

Situated between the Royal Harness Collection of the House of Orleáns and the Collection of Antique Firearms, the Royal Maestranza Gallery houses what serves as an introduction to the history of this institution of the nobility and chivalry, which dates back to the conquest of Ronda during the War of Granada.

Portrait of Philip II

The portraits of Philip II and Infante Gabriel (son of Charles III and the first member of the Royal Family to be appointed Grand Brother of the institution), accompanied by historical uniforms, saddles and firearms belonging to illustrious knights, mark the journey through more than four centuries of history of this Ronda corporation. The Fernando de Valenzuela portrait painted by Claudio Coello is a particular must-see.
